Bishop James King Jr. of South Carolina preached Friday at the Memorial Service to remember the 29 clergy, 27 clergy spouses and lay members of the conference who have died since the last annual conference. He called his words of comfort, “Twinkle.”

The morning session Thursday included greetings from and to many honored guests. Among them were a delegation from Korea and the Mayor of Washington, D.C.

Twice a year, older adults gather at the West River Camping Center to spend a “day away.” Some come in buses or vans, some are in wheel chairs. They come for the fellowship, the good food at lunch time, inspiring worship, fun and learning.
