Youth honors senior citizens
LUSBY - The Membership Committee, consisting primarily of youth and young adults of the Lusby Charge, honored nearly 100 senior citizens Oct. 28. The event, called the 'Golden Harvest Social,' included a dinner and entertainment and was held at St. John UMC.
Senior citizens from Mt. Hope, Eastern and St. John UMCs and Mt. Gethsemane Holiness Church met together for the dinner, the ninth such occasion the group has sponsored.
'The outreach ministry of the membership committee has made a profound influence of making disciples on the entire Lusby Charge and surrounding communities for the past nine years,' said J. Francis Beverly, chairman of education at St. John UMC.
