After many years in the planning stage, the West River Center is poised to begin construction of a new dining facility.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on July 11. Dinner on the grounds will begin at 5:30 with the ceremony at 7 p.m.

This phase of construction will include the new dining facility and the renovation of the old dining hall to make space for large group meetings and worship, a lounge and additional storage.

These projects are all part of the master plan for Retreat and Camping Ministries adopted by the annual conference in 1998.

A campaign to raise the remaining funds needed to complete the project was announced at this year?s annual conference by the Rev. Debbie Scott, in the board of trustees report.

The new facility will increase the capacity to more than 200 people and has many 'green' features.

All are welcome to attend the ground-breaking ceremony. Those who wish to attend the dinner should RSVP to (800) 922-6795 or .
