Baltimore Methodist, April 28, 1904 • George W. Corner was feted at Broadway Methodist Episcopal for 60 years of service as a class leader. Methodist Protestant, April 27, 1904 • North Carolina Avenue Methodist Protestant Church in Washington, will host the MP Christian Endeavor Conference May 17-19, followed by the Methodist Protestant General Conference May 20. 25 Years Ago Circuit Rider, April 13, 1979 • Three Mile Island nuclear evacuation in Pennsylvania found UMCOR ready with relief supplies that were loaded at New Windsor Church World Service Center. Circuit Rider, April 20, 1979 • Lebanon Valley College was closed for a week after the nuclear accident in Pennsylvania. The UM Social Principles of 1976 decried reliance on nuclear power. 10 Years Ago Connection, April 13, 1994 • A record 1,800 youth attended the confirmation rally held at Morgan University. • Five hundred new conference leaders were installed at First UMC in Hyattsville. • Kaleidoscope was named the top regional religious magazine. • Africa University will be dedicated April 24. |
