  • The bishop preached at Rembert?s Chapel in South Carolina, lamenting that Christmas Day was his worst for 'preaching Christ.'

Methodist Protestant, Jan. 3 and 10, 1906

  • Professor Lowell saw 'canals' and evidence of vegetation on Mars through a 24-inch telescope at Flagstaff, Ariz. Observatory.
  • As 25th anniversary of Christian Endeavor nears, it has 3.5 million members of whom 186,000 joined churches in 1905.
  • Buckeystown and Lime Kiln churches raised $225 for the mission in Japan.

Circuit Rider, Dec. 19, 1980

  • Fifteen diaconal ministers are serving Baltimore Conference churches, especially in music and education ministries.
  • The March 28 Confirmation Rally, to be held at Mt. Vernon Place UMC in Baltimore, will visit social agencies, conference headquarters and historic churches.

Connection, Dec. 20, 1995

  • Francis Asbury UMC and Wesley Korean Church in Rockville entered a covenant relationship.
  • St. Paul UMC in Sykesville enlarged the church and made it accessible within the strict historical gbwc_superuserelines of the town.
  • Due to budget constraints, the Connection will run only 21 issues in 1996.
