In observance of the 60th anniversary of the Advance for Christ and his Church, Shawn Bakker congratulated the Baltimore-Washington Conference for paying 100 percent of its apportionment and encouraged more members to support this second-mile giving to mission.

Baker, director of the denomination's Advance, explained to the members that 100 percent of the $34 million given to the Advance by local churches goes directly to donor-specified missions.

Last year, 36 percent of Baltimore-Washington conference churches contributed $700,000, said Baker, who encouraged 100 percent of churches to give to the ministries of the Advance.
