Shrove Tuesday celebrated at McDonald's

Posted by Bwcarchives on

COCKEYSVILLE ? For 15 years Epworth UMC has held its Shrove Tuesday pancake supper at the local McDonald's restaurant.

Steve Cornet, the restaurant owner, keeps his drive-through window open and turns the kitchen and dining room over to the church for two hours. ' It's like a big party,' he told the Jeffersonian.

'We do all the work and (Steve) provides all the materials,' including pancake batter and sausages, said the Rev. Bill Brown.

About 150 guests paid $4 for adults and $2 for children to enjoy the meal together. The proceeds are used to support the church's outreach and youth programs.
