Retired pastor publishes prayer book
BETHESDA - The Rev. Carlee Hallman has recently published 'Abide with Me,' a book of prayers 'for life?s eventide.'
The book includes 100 brief prayers that deal with life?s later years. The prayers are offered to point the way to faith in the varying circumstances and challenges of aging, Hallman said.
The soft-cover book is written in large print text and is divided into six sections: trust, asking, lament, confession, thanks and presence. Each prayer is accompanied by a verse from Scripture.
Hallman is a freelance writer and former regular 'Maturing in Faith' columnist for Mature Years magazine. She and her husband, Howard Hallman, are active at Bethesda UMC.
