BOONSBORO ? Reeders, a skilled nursing community for the aging population in Boonsboro, received the Maryland Performance Excellence Silver Award at ceremonies in College Park March 27. It was one of four organizations so honored this year.

Sponsored by Maryland?s U.S. Senators and the University of Maryland?s Technology Enterprise Institute, the award not only recognizes achievement in performance but helps the recipient to continue to enhance its management processes.

'Everyone associated with Reeders is incredibly proud of what we have accomplished,' said Melissa Hadley, executive director.

Reeders was established in 1971 through a bequest to the Baltimore-Washington Conference. It is affiliated with Asbury Communities (formerly Asbury Services) in Gaithersburg. It provides care for seniors of all faiths and is the largest employer in the Boonsboro area.

The award is Reeders? first.
