COLUMBIA - Harrison Johnson, long time prayer advocate for the Baltimore-Washington Conference, was inducted into the John Wesley Society of the United Methodist Men Foundation at a banquet March 1, during the meeting of the National Association of Conference Presidents of United Methodist Men.

Johnson leads the only conference prayer center in the denomination, a ministry that provides a 24-hour-a-day hotline to anyone in need of prayer. Sixteen volunteers staff the center, which receives approximately 35 calls a day.

The John Wesley Society was formed in 1982 to recognize people who exemplify the characteristics of the founder of Methodism.
