Plant sale finances VIM trips
PARKVILLE - Each year, Emily Wiley, a veteran of 12 Volunteers in Mission trips with Hiss UMC, and her committee collect hundreds of plants to sell just in time for Mother?s Day and spring planting. This year?s sale netted $3,200 to go toward Hiss?s VIM trips to Buckhannon, W. Va., in late July, and to Rosebud reservation in South Dakota, Habitat for Humanity in Louisiana, and a trip with members from Timonium UMC to Il Porvinier province in Nicaragua in August. The youth planning to go to Buckhannon provided lunch cooked on a grill at the plant sale.
