Organist composes a winner
FROSTBURG - Frostburg UMC?s organist, Sean Elliot Beachy, won the prize at the First Annual Anthem Competition of the First Baptist Church of Worcester, Mass.
His winning anthem, titled, 'Then I Saw a New Heaven,' was based on the assigned competition text of Revelation 21:1-6. It garnered a $1,200 prize. His anthem was premiered at First Baptist Church April 22.
Beachy and his wife, Debi Beachy, co-direct the music program at the church. He is also currently pursuing a DMA degree in composition.
