Open House Invitation

Posted by Bwcarchives on

The Baltimore-Washington Conference Center will open its doors for an Open House March 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The open house, said Associate Council Director Vivian McCarthy, will celebrate the conference's first attempts at 'creating a center that reflects more of who we are as a spiritual center for resourcing congregations for discipleship.'

These first efforts, in an ongoing transformation, will include a 'spiritual walk' with several different stations throughout the Conference Center building. These are places for reflection and meditation and invitations to prayer.

At 11 a.m., artist Earl Ridgell will offer a painting performance, creating a piece that will hang in the lobby for the next six months.

When visitors enter the lobby, they will be welcomed in several languages and will find reading materials appropriate to the season. Along with stations located in the resource area and near the back door, the building's long center hallway will offer 12 stations for reflection on the cross for the next few months.

Those who visit are encouraged to reflect upon Palm Sunday and to pray for the churches of the Baltimore-Washington Conference as they prepare for Holy Week.
