Obituaries - October 23, 2012 - Rev. Khrista Ann Ferguson

The Rev. Khrista Ann Ferguson, 59, who has been on disability leave since 2004, died Oct. 23, 2012, at the Gettysburg Hospital. She was a Provisional Member of the conference. Pastor Elza Hurst officiated at a memorial service Nov. 3 at Deerfield UMC in Sabillasville.

Ferguson was born Jan. 4, 1953, in Keyser, W. Va., the daughter of Blanche Paugh Ferguson and the late Don Ferguson. She was a graduate of West Virginia University and of Wesley Theological Seminary.

Ferguson was a member of Deerfield UMC before entering the ministry. She served Darkesville-Paynes Chapel UMCs in Darkesville from 1998 to 2004. She was appointed to Jefferson-Doubs UMC in June 2004, and in December that year went on Leave of Absence until her death.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, nieces and nephews, horseback riding and especially her cabin in West Virginia.

She is survived by her brother Charles Ferguson of Scherr, W.Va., and sister Paula James of Sabillasville, five nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews.
