Obituaries - Nov. 11, 2009 - Rae Taylor

Rae Taylor, 85, the wife of the late Wilbur A. Taylor, died suddenly from a heart attack Oct. 2. A funeral service was held Oct. 10 at the Hartenstein Mortuary in New Freedom, Pa., which had also handled services for her husband and several generations of the Taylor family.

Rae Parrish and Wilbur Taylor were married in 1946 shortly after he returned from Army service in World War II. He was a dental technician and came into the ministry as a second career. He served as a Local Pastor at Cedar Grove UMC in Parkton and assisted at Stabler's UMC for 12 years, retiring in 1987. He died in 2004.

Taylor was a member of Cedar Grove UMC. She was an avid reader and along with her late husband a devoted duckpin bowler. On the Tuesday and Wednesday before her death on Friday, she was bowling, her son said.

Survivors include son, Ronald L. Taylor of Ely, Nev., a daughter, Faye L. Boynton of Medford, N.J., and two grandchildren.
