Alice Lee Armiger was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Jacobsville, near Glen Burnie, to the late William Leslie and Alice Lee Armiger.

Lee Armiger, as she was known, married the Rev. Malcolm “Mac” Wright in 1941 at the beginning of his ministerial career, and faced the challenges of Christian ministry with him as they served a number of churches. These included Mt. Nebo from 1941-43, East Harford from 1944-46, Pipe Creek in 1947-48, Ridgeville, 1948-53, and Epworth in Gaithersburg for nine years. At Epworth she supported him in the relocation and construction of the church.

In 1964, Mac Wright became incapacitated from multiple sclerosis and went on disability leave, then retired in 1979.  For her it began a new phase of her life as she supported him throughout his disability until his death in 1983. In the 1960s, they moved to a house in Gaithersburg across the street from Asbury Methodist Village, where she lived with her daughter until her death.

They continued attending Epworth UMC for many years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting until arthritis took over the use of her hands.

Surviving are a son, Douglas Wright of Mercersburg, Pa., a daughter, Susan E. Wright of Gaithersburg, and three grandchildren.

Condolences may be sent to Susan Wright, 208 Russell Ave., Gaithersburg, MD 20877. They may also be posted at the funeral home guest book.
