Agnes CarringtonAgnes Allen Carrington, 90, the wife of the late Rev. Napoleon "N. B." Carrington, died June 15 in Baltimore. A service was held June 30 at Arbutus Memorial Park.

She was the second wife of Napoleon Carrington when they married in 1957. At the time he was pastor of Union Memorial UMC, which he served from 1953 to 1966 until he retired. His memoir states that "they walked hand in hand in Christian service." In 1967, he became associate pastor at Metropolitan UMC in Baltimore, where he remained until 1976. He died in 1979.

Carrington held many positions with the Women's Society, now called United Methodist Women. She was deeply involved with the Baltimore-Washington Conference and was a long-time volunteer at the UM Historical Society at Lovely Lane UMC.

She enjoyed crafts, taking photos, attending Baltimore Orioles baseball games, being a "high roller" on her bowling team, and "being a good neighbor," her sister said. She cared for many house plants and loved to travel.

She was pre-deceased by her husband and step children, Charles Carrington and Beatrice Myers.

Survivors include her sister, Elvira Gosnell of Baltimore, the only remaining sibling of nine children; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and an "adopted" daughter, Jean Cox.

Condolences may be sent to Elvira Gosnell, 3137 Jeffland Road, Baltimore, MD 21244.
