Obituaries - January 21, 2014 - Rev. Charles Lewis Frum

The Rev. Charles Lewis Frum, 89, a retired Elder, died Jan. 21, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Hospital, with family at his side. A funeral service was held Jan. 24 at Heights UMC in Point Pleasant, W. Va. It was conducted by two of his sons, the Rev. John Frum and the Rev. Wayne Frum. He was buried with full military honors provided by the American Legion of Mason County, Post #23.

Frum was born May 5, 1924, in Randolph County, W. Va., a son to the late Wilbert and Mary (Gordon) Frum.

He was a WWII veteran, having served in the European Theater. While in the service, he served with combat engineers and was at Normandy on June 6, 1944.

Frum’s ministerial career began in 1952 in the West Virginia Conference. He transferred to the Baltimore-Washington Conference and in 1973 was appointed to the Kemptown Charge. In 1977, he began serving the now Jefferson-Doubs Charge and remained there for 12 years until he retired in 1989.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Sylvia Jean (Wolfe) Frum

Survivors include his children: Lewis Frum, Lois Frum and Patricia Bissell of Point Pleasant, Rev. John Frum of Harrisville, W. Va., and Rev. Wayne Frum of Bunker Hill, W.Va. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
