Obituaries - December 28, 2011 - Carroll L. Nichols

Carroll L. Nichols, 91, the wife of the late Irwin Alvis Nichols, a Local Pastor, died Dec. 28, 2011, at the Filcare Home in Clear Spring. At her request there was no service. Burial was private at the Parkhead Cemetery in Big Pool.

She graduated from Clear Spring High School and Hagerstown Business College.

Irvin “Nick” Nichols, a retired Lt. Col. In the U.S. Air Force, who heard the call to ministry years after retirement, with his first wife served the three churches in the Potomac Charge in Big Pool beginning in 1984. He and Carroll Hose, widowed since 1987, married in 1989. He died in 1991.

Carroll Nichols worked at the Fairchild Reuben Darby Co., and the Washington County Health Department. She was secretary to the warden of the Maryland Correctional Training Center and retired after 21 years.

She was a member of Hilltop Christian Fellowship in Clear Spring.

Survivors include one son, George A. Hose Jr.; three daughters, Susan C. Miller, Brenda L. Seek and Sally Ann Hose; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. She leaves also Den Espinosa who cared for Nichols in her home for the past four years.
