Barbara Weaver Warfield Ehlers, 82, the wife of the Rev. William W. Ehlers, a retired Elder, died Aug. 11, 2011. The Rev. Robert Hunter III officiated at a memorial service Sept. 10, at Centre UMC in Forest Hill.

She and the Rev. William W. Ehlers were married in 1987, while he was serving St. Paul UMC in Lusby, from which he retired in 1990. It was a second marriage for each.

Barbara Ehlers spent her life on Cedar Heights Farm in Forest Hill. She was a registered nurse and served at Fallston General Hospital. She played a major role in the family dairy farming operation, and in later years managed the farm.

Ehlers attended Mary Washington College and received her RN Certification from Harford Community College. She studied piano and organ and was an organist for many years at Centre UMC in Forest Hill.

She was an avid art lover. Her uncle, N. Lloyd Weaver, was an important Harford County artist, and Ehlers was active in archiving his work and in mounting a showing at Liriodendron, where she was on the board of directors.

She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years Roy D. Warfield Jr., and a son, Thomas A. Warfield.

In addition to her husband, Ehlers is survived by her children, Robert l. Warfield, David W. Warfield, and daughter Sally J. Warfield, all of Forest Hill; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
