News Briefs: Members praised for millennia of service
CHEVY CHASE ? More than 60 men and women of Chevy Chase UMC were recognized during worship services June 12 and honored at a ?Silver Celebration? luncheon for having served as volunteers in the church for 25 years or more.
Among the 90 guests were 105-year-old Bennie Madigan and a dozen members who have been active for 50 years or more. The volunteers represented nearly 2,400 years of service to the church.
