SYKESVILLE ? Bill Lizor Jr., who grew up in the youth group at St. Paul's UMC, has been named director of Young Adult and Single Adult Ministries in the Discipleship Ministries Division of the General Board of Discipleship in Nashville.

He worked as the communications and project coordinator for the Shared Mission Focus on Young People the past two years. It was voted out of existence at General Conference in 2004, and became the new youth division.

His former pastor, the Rev. Roland Brown III, described Lizor as a very talented, natural-born leader in a profile article published in the UMConnection a year ago.

Lizor is committed to his ministry with youth and young adults. 'Young people are an integral part of the Kingdom of God,' he said.
