Middle high students gather at West River for retreat
West River Center was again the scene for the Baltimore-Washington Conferences annual Middle High Retreat, March 13, where about 150 6th through 8th graders and their adult chaperones came to experience, enjoy and learn about their faith and one another.
The Rev. Stephen Gallaher from Harrisburg, Pa., and his troupe of young adult youth leaders, known as Salt and Light Ministries, used scripture, dialogue, testimony, music, dramatic skits, games, storytelling and youth-led worship to engage the retreaters around the theme, Keeping It Real. Attendees came from throughout the conference.
I thought this was going to be all church stuff, but it was fun, Wayne Thompson, 11, told Tom Price, conference director of youth ministries. I want to come back.
