Mary Hancock Reynolds, 93, the surviving spouse of the late Rev. Forrest Reynolds, died March 7, after a short hospital stay in Rocky Mount, Va. A funeral service was held there March 11.

Forrest Reynolds died in October 2006, a few months after they moved to Rocky Mount. She continued to live there by herself with the help of a sister.

Mary Hancock and Forrest Reynolds married in 1942 and she served with him, first in churches in the West Virginia and Genessee conferences, then starting in 1954 in the Baltimore Conference. His appointments included Community UMC in Riviera Beach, from 1954-1965, and she continued corresponding with many friends from that period.

They also served Ryland Epworth UMC in Washington for 13 years. During that time she worked with the PEPCO Credit Union, from which she retired after 15 years. He also had short appointments to Pasadena UMC and Memorial UMC in Silver Spring.

After his retirement in 1982, the Reynoldses moved to Washington, D.C., then in 1998 to Annapolis. In 2006, they moved to Rocky Mount.

There are no immediate survivors. Her only child, Forrest P. Reynolds Jr., died in 2001. She has two grandchildren, Caroline Reynolds in Ontario, Canada; and Jennifer Reynolds in Coppell, Texas. Also surviving are two sisters, a brother and many nieces and nephews.
