Man of the Year, Chaplain for a Day

Posted by Bwcarchives on

MARTINSBURG, W. VA. - This month, the Rev. Warren Watts will celebrate 35 years with Tri-County Pastoral Counseling Services. In that time he?s seen 38,500 people, he told the Martinsburg Journal newspaper in a full page story. That?s a small part of the reason the American Biographical Institute named him 'Man of the Year,' Nov. 6.

Watts, director of the pastoral service, supervises other counselors and also sees individual and family clients. He spends time in the school system and court system, particularly on family law. He has a regular column in the Journal, and if that weren?t enough, he is a chaplain for the law enforcement agencies in the area. He is also an ethics investigator for the West Virginia Office of the Attorney General.

What?s next? Sen. Robert C. Byrd nominated Watts to be 'Senate Chaplain for the Day' on a yet-to-be-determined date in the spring. He will give the opening prayer for the Senate that day.
