Leadership Days offers 60 classes

An annual opportunity for United Methodists in the Baltimore-Washington Conference to broaden their discipleship horizons by learning about new tools for mission and ministry is just around the corner.

'People tell me all the time that they want to do their job better in their local church and that they want a clearer understanding of what things mean,' said the Rev. Vivian McCarthy, Leadership Days coordinator. 'We have a broad number of classes that will help.'

More than 60 workshops will be offered at three regional locations.

The Western region's session will be held Jan. 15 at Musselman High School in Inwood, W. Va. The Baltimore/Annapolis region session is set for Jan. 29 at Perry Hall High School in Perry Hall. The Washington region event is scheduled for Feb. 5 at Friendly High School in Fort Washington.

Course descriptions and registration materials were mailed to church leaders last month.

Classes are grouped according to Bishop John R. Schol's model for the journey of discipleship. The categories reflect his vision of the basic tenets necessary for a mature faith.

On-line registration is available at www.bwcumc.org.
