Forum discusses teenage depression

Posted by Bwcarchives on

COLUMBIA ? St. John UMC-Presbyterian and St. John Roman Catholic churches held a joint forum on teenage depression at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center March 10.

More than 40 parents and teens met separately, but both groups watched the video 'Day for Night,' which offered an in-depth look at the signs, symptoms and treatment for teenage depression, reported Peg Bridges, a member of St. John UMC and the conference Subcommittee on Ministry with Persons with Mental Illness and their Families.

Experts were present with both the teens and adults to field questions. Dr. R. Arlington-Sanders, a pediatrician from Johns Hopkins University, spoke with the more than 20 young people.
