Refrain:
Children of Light, be reflections of Christ
Despite the darkness of sight Lord,
let our hearts ignite and be light,
live light and speak light

For we were once darkness …
unconscious, sleep walking …
in our own deceptions, going through the motions no questions,
ego tripping on a rock
trying to build a road to heaven.
Having physical sight with no vision,
addiction and spiritual malnutrition and
guided by the senses,
walking in this life wilderness
with no religion or no defense
when the heart is tempted.
Lust, envy, pride and greed,
fruitless pursuits that breed anxieties
and we fall so easily in traps of vanity it seems to me,
Our hunger for God buried deep,
gets lost in translation,
we’d rather have fame than salvation, we’d rather consume than feed nations,
and we’d rather be prodigal than taste liberation.

Refrain:
Children of Light,
be reflections of Christ
Despite the darkness of sight Lord,
let our hearts ignite and be light,
live light and speak light

Now you are light in the Lord … awakened
… your paradigm start and your heart is
Breaking open to the sacred oasis,
older than ancient and all that will ever
be … From the first heartbeat to infinity,
this light our soul seeks …
Brightness that humbles the stars,
fertile and unbounded grace birthed
from afar and within.
You are … Light.
Not the spotlight in jewels that bling,
or diamond encrusted rings.

This light cannot be bought or sold or contained.
This light brings truth to the dark spaces and spreads
love to worn faces Just a taste can refresh
our mental states like jazz.

Refrain:
Children of Light, be reflections of Christ
Despite the darkness of sight Lord,
let our hearts ignite and be light,
live light and speak light

Live as children of light in perpetual contemplation,
lost in adoration of his Glory limitless …
a love supreme and infinite, a presence so vast yet intimate.
Words can’t convey
the heart’s sentiment.
Lord play this prodigal like an instrument
til prayers of confession reach your tenderness
and we all bow our heads in remembrance
of home.
