WOODLAWN ? The sound of music filled the air April 16-17, as Emmarts UMC hosted two musical groups in community concerts. The concerts were part of a yearlong celebration of the church's 200th anniversary. About 40 members from another church joined Emmarts UMC less than two years ago, and the small church has taken on a revitalization of spirit. The church is using the anniversary as an opportunity to look to the future. The Randallstown Honors Choir, made up of high school youth, directed by Jana Harris, 'sang familiar lyrics with amazing arrangements,' she said. The next day the Spirit Lifters of Annapolis performed to an overflow crowd.
