Disciple Bible study offers church growth
CAPITOL HEIGHTS - Gethsemane UMC held a graduation ceremony and Communion service to celebrate the completion of its fifth year of Disciple Bible study May 14. More than 70 congregants in the church have completed the 34 weeks of study, reported Shirley Newton-Guest, co-chair of Witness Ministry, who was in the fifth year class.
'Our church family has experienced spiritual growth, maturity, new and exciting ministries, and leaderships are being birthed, created and developed,' said the Rev. Sylvester Gaines.
'I have learned to study the Bible slowly, carefully and ? find out what it means to me and how to apply it to my everyday life and have a closer relationship with God,' said Lucille Gaines, a first year student.
