BWC delegates to serve as General and Jurisdictional Conferences were elected.

At the annual conference session, for the first time and without a hitch, electronic voting was used to elect delegates to the General and Jurisdictional delegations, saving hours in time once used for balloting.

The Baltimore-Washington Conference delegation is noted for its diversity. Of the seven clergy and seven lay delegates elected to serve at the 2012 General Conference, seven are female and seven male; six are white, six are black and one is Korean.

An additional seven clergy and seven lay delegates and eight alternates were also elected to serve at the 2012 Jurisdictional Conference.

In the total delegation, 21 members are white, 14 are black and one is Korean;  there are 18 men and 18 women serving on the delegation. Four are young adults.

The General Conference, a quadrennial gathering which draws together a body of 1,000 United Methodists from around the world to set the policies and priorities of the denomination, will be held April 12 through May 4, 2012 in Tampa, Fla.

The Jurisdictional Conference, where delegates elect bishops to lead The United Methodist Church, will be held July 18-20 in Charleston, W.Va.
