Congregation quadruples for occasion
GREEN SPRING, W. Va. - Last fall Otterbein UMC celebrated its 80th anniversary. The church has 12 members who meet faithfully each week, said the Rev. William Bice, who has served the church 10 years in his retirement, but on Sept. 24, 50 people were in the pews. Some of the visitors were members who had moved away and came back for the occasion. Some were children who had grown up in the church and moved out of town. One family of four read about it in the local newspaper and came to visit.After the service the participants gathered at Green Spring Community Park for lunch.
