Conference communications awarded
COLUMBIA - Kate Thomas, graphic designer for the Baltimore-Washington Conference won top honors from the Religion Communicators Council for her work creating the cover of the Discipler Gbwc_superusere issue on vision for local churches. Thomas received the DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial award April 28, when the council met for its annual meeting in Louisville, Ky.
At the same awards ceremony, the UMConnection, the newspaper of the Baltimore-Washington Conference, won an award of merit for its work informing, inspiring and resourcing church leaders.
The UMConnection was also recognized by the Associated Church Press with an honorable mention award in the Best in Class regional newspaper category at a ceremony April 24.
