COLUMBIA - Staff of Baltimore-Washington Conference Communications were recently honored at the annual meeting of the United Methodist Association of Communicators for their Web site, the UMConnection, videos, artwork and an editorial.

The conference?s Web site (www.bwcumc.org) took top honors in the denomination in the annual conference division.

The conference newspaper, the UMConnection, with staff members the Rev. Erik Alsgaard, Melissa Lauber, Linda Worthington, Kate Thomas and Christine Kumar, was recognized as one of the three best newspapers in the denomination.

Tom Price received recognition for two videos costing more than $10,000, 'I?d Take Nothing for the Journey' and 'The Discipleship Adventure,' and one for videos costing less than $10,000, 'Disciples Respond to Hurricane Katrina.'

Thomas, the conference graphic artist, was awarded for her artwork on 'Serve Bible,' and Alsgaard received an honor for his editorial, 'Connecting through ?the blue girl.?'
