BALTIMORE - "Hoards of fans took pictures of our sign," said the Rev. Mernie Crane, pastor of Old Otterbein UMC, across the street from Camden Yards, home base of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team, during ?Fan Appreciation Day,? Aug. 15.

Members and friends of Old Otterbein UMC, the oldest congregation in Baltimore, have sold peanuts to fans flocking by the church on the way to a home game every day but Sunday since 1992. Proceeds help support the church?s mission programs.

Though the season is winding down, the church still welcomes groups, youth or adults, to help sell the peanuts before the games. Call the church at 410-685-4703 to set up a date.
