Church honors cancer survivors
FINKSBURG - Sandy Mount UMC filled the sanctuary with thousands of daffodils to honor all those who are battling cancer. Especially honored at the March service was Sunday school superintendent, Sharon Sawyer, 'for her positive attitude and continued service to our church,' as she has struggled with ovarian cancer for five years, reported Ted Wilson. They raised more than $1,100 for the American Cancer Society.
