BETHESDA - Nineteen different organizations and missions supported by North Bethesda UMC gathered in the church?s social hall Feb. 11, to tell their stories.

'The fair was a wonderfully warm, social and educational community outreach event,' said Gordon Cragg, a member of the missions organizing team.

Organizations represented ranged from local charities such as Bethesda Cares and the Senior Connection, to Ellen and Jeff Hoover, missionaries serving in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to mission agencies like Samata Liarana, which works with destitute families in Sri Lanka.

'I can?t remember ever having such an opportunity to talk about the people we affect, instead of just what we do,' said one fair-goer.
