Church faces construction challenges

FRIENDSHIP - What does a church do when construction blocks the main arteries to the church? Friendship UMC is finding out.

A new traffic circle is being built just a block from the church, closing off Friendship and Sansbury roads, but leaving access along Route 2. The church is not the only one affected, so are the post office, a store and a restaurant.

'We receive calls in the office from people sitting out at the construction asking, ?I can see it, but how do I get to your church??' said the Rev. Bill Brought.

The construction is expected to finish in September. However, 'our hearts, our minds, and our doors really are ? and will stay ? open,' Brought said.
