Church creates new logo
BUCKEYSTOWN ? There are two UMCs with Buckeystown as their name, one on Route 80 and one on Route 85. Buckeystown UMC on Rt. 85 has been an historic community church since 1896, reported Claudia Porter, communications leader. 'Members felt it was time to move into the 21st century.' They?ve created a new logo to tell their story.
The cross by the door represents Jesus as the doorway to God and tells everyone that he is the focus. 'We wanted all to know that we are a church of open hearts, open minds, open doors and that all are welcome to join us on the Discipleship Adventure,' Porter said.
