RANDALLSTOWN ? The children at Ward's Chapel 'have been pivotal' in raising thousands of dollars for the Heifer International Project, said Linda Burgard. All parts of the worship service Jan. 16 centered around God's gifts of animals. Betsy Wilhelm, a representative of Heifer, presented the Ark Award to the church for its contributions to the organization. In the past two years the church has raised nearly $10,000. Most of those funds have been collected by the children, who once a month during the children's sermon, take cups around the congregation and collect loose change. |
