The Rev. Charles Morgan, 92, a retired associate member, died Jan. 31, at Asbury Village. He had suffered a heart attack in January. A memorial service was held Feb. 9 in Guild Memorial Chapel at Asbury Village in Gaithersburg.

Morgan served churches as a supply pastor for nearly 25 years, from 1957 when he was appointed to Marriottsville, until his retirement in 1981. In 1965, he moved to Wilkens Ave. and in 1968 to Calvary in Gamber. In 1975 he was appointed to Fells Point Parish, made up of Caroline Street and East Baltimore UMCs, and two years later to Salem UMC in Baltimore, from which he retired and moved to Asbury Village.

In retirement, he filled in where needed as a preacher, and taught Bible classes for many years.

Morgan’s first wife, Leona Virginia Morgan, died in 1992 and he married Willa C. Morgan. She is in poor health in the Wilson Health Care facility.

He was also predeceased by two daughters, Nancy Sanders and Allyson Colder, and a grandson, Mike Morgan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Chuck Morgan from his first marriage; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
