BWC Mission CenterThe new Baltimore-Washington Conference Mission Center, at 11711 East Market Place in Fulton, will hold an open house for the community Tuesday, Oct. 19.

The day will begin with a service of consecration, led by Bishop John Schol, at 10 a.m. Tours will be given from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m.

In addition, Cokesbury will host the Revs. Miguel A. De La Torre, author of “Reading the Bible from the Margins,” and Jeanne Torrence Finley, who has written several resources for Asbury Press and the United Methodist Publishing House, including this year’s Advent Study, “Blessings of the Manger.”

At the ribbon cutting in August, Bishop Schol said, the new center “honors God as it honors our tradition and seeks to transform our future. It captures transcendence, preserves creation and opens us to the light of God, demonstrates that quality and faithful stewardship can go hand in hand, pulls the outside in and the inside out and creates grace space.”
