Blessed by knitting
BALTIMORE ? Northwood-Appold UMC recently organized a knitting ministry, joining with many churches throughout the country who gather in small groups to knit shawls, lap pads, gloves and scarves.
Northwood-Appold?s knitting group consists of several women and a young man.
When the items are done, they are presented to people in nursing homes and hospitals, as well as to people in crisis or celebrating life events, said Bernice Cheatham.
The knitters don?t just knit and pearl; they also pray. ?Many blessings will be prayed into each item before it is presented,? Cheatham said.
