Bishop to meet with elected leadership in December

Bishop John R. Schol of the Baltimore-Washington Conference has called a meeting for all elected leaders and members of conference boards, commissions, councils, committees and other official conference structures.

At the meeting, the bishop will share the process for identifying the conference's vision, mission, beliefs and values. This will also impact how the conference is organized as well as the purpose and composition of conference elected positions and organizations.

Elected leaders are invited to attend one of the three gatherings.

The meeting will be held at three different times: Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the conference center and Thursday, Dec. 9, at 9:30 a.m. at Trinity UMC in Frederick.

'As we start to shape our vision, mission, values and beliefs, it is important for me to hear from the elected leadership of how God is leading the church,' said Bishop Schol. 'I will need their help as together we shape what it means to make disciples.'

The bishop also plans to meet with both clergy and laity to discuss the conference's vision, values, mission and beliefs Jan. 31, Feb. 1 and Feb. 24, holding three sessions each day.
