Bishop Marcus Matthews introduces the incoming Cabinet and its officers.

Bishop Marcus Matthews introduced his new Cabinet and its dean to the members of the Baltimore-Washington in the plenary session May 31.

The Rev. J. W. Park will serve during the next two years as dean of the Cabinet. On July 1, he begins as the superintendent of the Central Maryland District.

The Cabinet’s new spiritual director is the Rev. Cynthia Moore, the incoming superintendent of the Baltimore Metropolitan District. The Rev. Evan Young, of the Annapolis District, will be the Cabinet secretary and the Rev. Edgardo Rivera, incoming superintendent of the Frederick District will serve as treasurer.

The regional leaders include, in Baltimore, the Rev. Laura Easto, incoming superintendent of the Baltimore Suburban District; in the Western Region, the Rev. Conrad Link, superintendent of the Cumberland-Hagerstown District; in the Annapolis-Southern Region, the Rev. Rebecca Iannicelli, incoming superintendent of the Washington East District; and the Rev. Joseph Daniels, who will serve as incoming superintendent of the Greater Washington District and continue to serve as pastor of Emory UMC in Washington.

The new Cabinet begins its ministry July 1.

The bishop also introduced the Extended Cabinet including Sandy Ferguson, Director of Connectional Ministries; Melissa Lauber, Director of Communications, Paul Eichelberger, chief financial officer and treasurer; and Delores Oden, the conference lay leader.

The Rev. Maidstone Mulenga, the conference director of global affairs and media, will also serve as the assistant to the bishop.
