Big Hearts give big check
MT. AIRY - The missions commitee of Howard Chapel-Ridgeville UMC recently presented a "large" check (4-foot by 2-foot) for $1500 to the local food agency. Mt. Airy NET , "to help people in need during these challenging economic times, said Rev. Laura Schultz.
Receiving the check was Mt. Airy NET's director Elaine Dean. NET has a food pantry, gives gas and grocery cars and provides referral services for assistance. Many volunteers work on site at Calvery UMC to help those in need.
