Bible Society celebrates 200 years

The Rev. Raymond Moreland, the retiring president of the Maryland Bible Society, welcomes guests to a prayer breakfast in Baltimore March 12, to celebrate the group’s 200th anniversary.
The breakfast featured the remarks of award-winning author Tony Campolo, who hailed the Bible as a message from God, an infallible guide for faith and practice, and a source of great hope for the future.
In the past 13 years, the Society has
distributed almost 31 million Bibles.
