A pastor's practices revealed
FREDERICK ? The Rev. Kenneth Dunnington was one of five clergy and rabbis interviewed by the Frederick News-Post April 1 on how he 'keeps faith foremost in the congregation.' The ratio of churches to population in the city is 27 percent higher than the national average so each religious leader has a challenge.
Faith-based social action is a mainstay of the church, said Dunnington, who takes weeks of thought and prayer to come up with a season?s sermons. Then in a four-hour process he writes notes on 5x8 index cards from which he delivers a 20-minute improvisational sermon, the paper noted.
