140 years in the community
SILVER SPRING - Colesville UMC first gathered in a frame building called Andrew Chapel in 1866, where today?s Colesville cemetery is located. In May 1959, the growing congregation moved across the road where the church now stands.
A month before its 140th anniversary celebration April 22, the congregation gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new East entrance.
