Two special ministries to benefit from offerings this session
At this session, members will be able to contribute to two special ministries.
Bishop Easterling is calling for a “Seeds of Security” (S.O.S) offering during the opening worship service May 31. This domestic violence initiative is in support of men and women seeking refuge from abusive relationships or marriages. The decision to leave an abusive partner or spouse comes with great risk, from physical retaliation to homelessness. A major impediment to leaving is the financial means to seek shelter and security.
During the Ordination Service, June 2, an offering will be taken to bring scholarship help to the youth who wish to attend ROCK but are financially unable to. ROCK, the annual conference-wide youth retreat in 2018 will be held in Ocean City, Jan. 26-28. Some 5,000 teenagers and their youth leaders and chaperones attend the life-changing event.
